IR Range Test Results
A lot of people have asked us about the range that one can expect when using OmniRemote™ and unfortunately we didn't have an answer for them simply because there are so many factors that come into play when using infrared communication. Some of these include the model and type of PalmOS PDA being used, the environment in which the equipment is located (eg- a bright, sunny living room or a dark purpose-built A/V room), the type of device you are trying to send to (eg- cable box or high-end audio equipment) and the device (eg- remote control) you are asking OmniRemote™ to learn from.
So with that said, we decided the best way to give an idea of what one could expect when using OmniRemote™ is to provide a listing of what we observed in our lab. The information provided here should be used as a guideline and is not meant to be used as a guarantee of performance.
